Our family of 6 stayed at The Rondavel for two weeks. The home is extremely accommodating. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the gadgets you could possibly hope for: three different coffee makers, bread machines, crockpot, electric skillets, and a panini press, to name a few. Two washers and dryers makes light work of doing laundry. Although the Gulf was suffering from red tide at the time of our visit, we were still able to enjoy the kayaks a couple times. Also, twice my children were able to go out with the ‘turtle patrol’ to release baby sea turtles; what a treat!!
We LOVE the Rondavel and Little Gasparilla Island! We have gone to beaches in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and all over Florida and this one is our favorite so far. The house is really lovely. You have done such an excellent job decorating, putting in wonderful touches like the two sets of washer/dryers, extra beach towels and the well-stocked kitchen and the spacious bedrooms. Everything has just been perfect. I really love the policy of leaving unperishable goods for others to use. What a great idea! I’ve always wished that I could leave something for the next person. The chefs in the family have enjoyed having a kitchen that has good knives, enough pots and pans and lots of little extras. We are making soft boiled eggs this morning so we can try out the little cups and our dinners so far have been excellent. We did fish last night and oysters wrapped in bacon and oysters Rockefeller. On Easter Sunday, we had a rack of lamb, asparagus and deviled eggs. Yum! The kids dyed Easter eggs with shaving cream and food dye in a pan and we had an egg hunt out in the yard. We have enjoyed watching sunsets and discovered the little chapel down the road and art gallery. It’s been nice to have a dock so we’ve explored the island, looked for clams and found over 200 sharks teeth!! [Foodies – our restaurant http://www.freshwoodfiredpizza.net/]
We are for sure, professional shark tooth hunters! See our pictures on the Guest Gallery.
